WebAug 23, 2013 · I bought the 700t at a hamfest some 25 years ago. I bought it from a gentleman who bought it new. It had a $35 price tag on it. When I bought it, it had a weak channel. I was pretty young at the time at 14 years of age. The gentleman was kind enough to ask if I knew it did not work and he did not know what was wrong with it. WebThe Fisher 800t is an excellent vintage warm sounding receiver. Beautifully built and very well kept. It does have a low hum at no volume but isn't audible with sound ongoing. Probably needs to be serviced at some point, but perfectly usable as is. These vintage Fisher's are highly regarded and for good reason, they just sound incredible.

Its actually the piece of audio gear I've owned the longest, had it more than 20 years at this point. I gave it a full rebuild ~2 years ago and run it daily at work. In stock form I found the preamp to have a lot of boost in the bass department.
