Now, open the Chrome flags page and enable chrome://flags#borealis-linux-mode. Then, you should wait for the feature to go live on your device. WebShould be using Crostini. That is the future and if/when Google switches ChromeOS to use the new kernel Crostini will continue to function and Google already done the code development, it is called Machina. Crostini is also the supported approach from Google. Plus Crostini is by far the most secure way to use GNU/Linux on a Chromebook.
